Member Obligations
1.
Management Team
A Management Team with
executive powers will be formed to recognize the importance of APQP project.
2. Briefing of APQP Project
The Management Team
will be briefed on how APQP project will benefit the company. The team will
also be briefed on their roles and responsibilities to make the APQP project a
success to them, the Promoter and the community.
3. Team formation
Team members will be
selected to participate in the program. Member selection will be at the
discretion of the Management Team. Member selection will be from design,
production and quality assurance departments. The Human Resources Department
will be crucial in identifying the respective personnel to be trained on each
of the 23 different trainings. Companies are recommended to send engineers or
suitable technicians. They will also be responsible to ensure that selected
members attend the training and coordinate the implementation of APQP.
4. Training
Selected members will
undergo a series of training according to the APQP program. Courses will be
designed on a take-back-and-do approach to facilitate engineer’s
implementation. Courses will keep mathematics and statistics concepts to the
minimum (it may not be possible to completely eliminate them) and practical
aspects will be maximized so that even engineers with little mathematics and
statistics background will be able to follow the program. Community members
will benefit from the application programs developed by the Smart Partnership
by alleviating the need for heavy mathematics and statistics requirements.
Community members will also benefit from the checklists, notes and templates
provided in the training.
5. Post Training
Following training,
participating members will be required to implement relevant APQP aspects in
their company. Delegates should see immediate in-house applications to improve
quality and productivity. They will be assisted by the Promoter’s team of
Content and Community Developers. HR shall facilitate the Content and
Community Developers cooperation. Trained members are encouraged to work
closely with the Smart Partnership to enable an effective implementation.
6. Achievements
An implementation
record will be kept by the respective Management Team. This record shall be
used for the purpose of tracking the company’s development throughout the APQP
project.
